Managing Director James Whitford Celebrates his 50th Birthday
As James celebrates his 50th birthday, we look back on his journey from Cardiff University Graduate to Managing Director of European Geophysical Services.
1994
James graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc Honours in Mining and Exploration Geophysics. James was attracted to a career in Geology as he had a passion for all things outdoors and driving Land Rovers!
In the same year European Geophysical Services was established by geophysicist and electronics engineer Kim Beesley, with just two people and one geophysical logging unit.
1996
James had previously spent two years as a freelance geophysicist and in 1996 Kim Beesley employed James as a geophysical Logging Engineer.
1998
James was appointed as a Director and became a shareholder in the company. Kim continued to build the company into one of the UKs leading borehole logging companies.
2017
When Kim retired in 2017, James took over as Managing Director. Today European Geophysical Services is the largest independent slimline logging company in Europe.
