Karl Clark: One year at European Geophysical Services
Karl Clark joined the business last year as an Engineer and has since worked on a full range of projects, prepared reports and expanded his skills and knowledge. We caught up with Karl to see how he is getting on:
Tell us about your first year at EGS?
“My first year at EGS has been jam packed with training, travelling, challenges and experiences. The people of EGS have been a pleasure to work for/with. The company is unique in that it has a very ‘family’ feel, but with big ambition. I have worked with each member of the experienced team at some point and learnt a lot from each of them, and they are always on hand to help and advise on technical issues. From the moment I started I was brought up to date with necessary training and certifications needed to work in the variety of industries we cater for. I’ve enjoyed the breadth and depth of the projects I have been involved with, from water management, engineering, mining and energy.”
Which projects have you enjoyed working on most?
“I’ve most enjoyed the projects that have presented the most technical challenges, particularly those that are relatively new concepts in emerging markets such as geothermal and decommissioning of end-of-life hydrocarbon wells, and I most look forward to working offshore having completed my BOSIET course, although I hope I never have to utilise it!”
